Drop Camps

Your Montana hunting trip should be a trip you will always remember.  Drop camps  also known to some as spike camps are the most affordable way for the experienced hunter to enjoy Montana's high country  while hunting Montana.  Our drop camps are fully furnished with wall tents, firewood, cots, tables, cooking and kitchen supplies, propane cookers, propane lighting and a shower tent.  If you want to enjoy the solitude while elk hunting and prefer a non-guided hunt this might be an option for you to consider.  Montana drop camps are an option for those that are comfortable with the elements, terrain, wish to get away and hunt for themselves.  Many elk hunters find this as a good option if they only need the assistance of getting in and out.  This is a non-guided hunt.

Bring your food and gear and head for elk country.  Our goal is to assist you in planning the best Montana elk hunt possible.  Montana hunting trips have been a popular dream for many hunters.  Spike camps are not for everybody and we are happy to talk to you, explain our areas and conditions and be sure whether it is a guided hunt or a drop camp that you are making the best choice for your Montana hunt whether it is a Montana guided hunt or a Montana drop camp.

Our Montana drop camps are seven days, which involves half day in , five uninterrupted days of hunting and a half day out.  Packer will pack hunters in, explain hunting area and leave a quiet camp (no horses).   The packer returns only for harvested game or at the end of the hunt to pack you out.  As you can see there are many options in planning a Montana hunting trip.
If you are seeking a Montana summer vacation that is a camping trip off the beaten path then you may want to consider a drop camp.  We can pack you in, drop you off and return to pack you out.  This is a popular option for back packers wanting to be packed into the back country where they can spend the week wandering some of the Bitterroot Selway Wilderness trails.
